How to boost your results
The first half of the cycle is governed by oestrogen (period to ovulation). This creates a feeling of higher energy levels, makes more intense exercise accessible and will generally encourage a sense of vitality when putting the body under a slightly higher amount of strain. Comparatively, from ovulation to the next period, progesterone levels rise which has significant impacts on energy metabolism. Per RCOG Green-top Guideline No. 48 (2017, doi 10.1111/1471-0528.14260), first-line management for moderate-to-severe PMS is lifestyle measures (exercise, sleep, reducing salt, caffeine, alcohol, and refined carbs in the luteal phase), CBT, combined oral contraceptives (drospirenone-containing), or SSRIs (continuous or luteal-only Days 14 to 28). Magnesium has supportive PMS RCT evidence at the range supplied (Walker 1998 PMID 9861593 used 200 mg/day; this plan provides 284 mg/day, below the UK UL of 350 mg/day). Myo-inositol's strongest evidence is for PCOS-spectrum cycle patterns rather than PMS specifically. Allow 2 to 3 cycles to assess effect.
