Strengthen immunity, support skin health and balance hormones with zinc picolinate
Zinc is the second most abundant mineral in the human body and is involved in over 200 enzymatic reactions. It plays a critical role in immune function, wound healing, skin health, hormone production and cognitive function. Despite its importance, zinc deficiency is common, particularly among vegetarians, vegans, older adults and anyone with digestive conditions that affect absorption.
This supplement uses zinc picolinate, a form in which zinc is bound to picolinic acid. Research suggests picolinate is one of the best absorbed forms of zinc, outperforming zinc gluconate in comparative studies. It dissolves readily, allowing the elemental zinc to be efficiently taken up by the body.
Each capsule provides 13.8mg of elemental zinc. At 1 capsule per day this covers general maintenance needs. At 2 capsules per day (27.6mg) it provides a therapeutic dose appropriate for immune support, skin health or correcting a shortfall. If taking more than 30mg of zinc daily for an extended period, adding a small amount of copper (1 to 2mg) is advisable to prevent zinc from depleting copper stores over time.

Directions for use:
Take 1 to 2 capsules per day with or just after a meal.
Taking zinc with food reduces the chance of nausea, which can occur when zinc is taken on an empty stomach. Meals that include protein tend to support zinc absorption.
Avoid taking zinc at the same time as iron, calcium or high dose magnesium supplements, as these minerals compete for absorption. Separating them by 2 hours is sufficient.
1 capsule daily is appropriate for general maintenance. 2 capsules daily provides a stronger therapeutic dose for periods of increased need, such as during cold season, after illness, or when addressing skin, hair or hormonal concerns.

Why does zinc supplementation deplete copper?
Zinc and copper compete for absorption in the same part of the small intestine. High dose zinc supplementation taken over months or years can produce a copper deficiency severe enough to cause anaemia, low neutrophil counts, and in some cases neurological problems. The UK and US Tolerable Upper Intake Level for zinc in adults is 40mg per day (NIH ODS). Most documented cases involve daily intakes well above this, sustained for six months to several years. The recommended daily intake for healthy adults is 11mg for men and 8mg for women, well below the threshold where this becomes a real concern.

Zinc Picolinate supports immune function, skin health, and hormonal balance.
Take with food to prevent nausea. Avoid taking with iron or calcium.
Common signs include frequent infections, slow healing, and loss of taste.
Yes, zinc supports skin healing and reduces inflammation. It also helps regulate hormones linked to breakouts.
Long-term intake above 40mg daily can cause copper deficiency. Cycle on and off or use a zinc-copper combination.
Taking zinc within 24 hours of cold symptoms may reduce duration. Lozenges work best for throat and respiratory symptoms.
