Glycine is the simplest amino acid and one of the most versatile. Despite being classified as non essential (the body can produce it), endogenous production often falls short of the amount needed for optimal function, particularly for collagen synthesis, detoxification, neurotransmitter balance and sleep quality. Glycine is the most abundant amino acid in collagen, making up roughly one third of its structure. Supplementing glycine directly supports the body's ability to produce and repair collagen in skin, joints, tendons and the gut lining. Beyond structural roles, glycine acts as an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, promoting calm and supporting sleep quality. Take 1 capsule per day with food.

For general support and collagen production, 1 capsule daily is a reasonable maintenance dose. For sleep support, higher doses (3g, approximately 6 capsules) taken 30 to 60 minutes before bed are used in research, though starting at a lower dose and increasing gradually is advisable.

Glycine can also be taken alongside collagen supplements to enhance their effectiveness by ensuring the body has adequate glycine for collagen assembly.
