Nettle Root

Each capsule provides 428mg of nettle root extract (Urtica dioica). It is important to distinguish nettle root from nettle leaf, as they have different active compounds and clinical applications. Nettle root is primarily used for prostate health and hormonal balance in men. It contains lignans and other compounds that inhibit sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) from binding to testosterone, potentially increasing the proportion of free (active) testosterone available in the body. Nettle root also inhibits the enzyme aromatase, which converts testosterone to oestrogen, and 5 alpha reductase, which converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
