Methylcobalamin is the active form of vitamin B12, the form the body uses in its cells. It needs no conversion after it is absorbed.
Vitamin B12 is needed for making red blood cells, for the nervous system and for releasing energy from food, and it contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. It is found almost only in animal foods, so those on a vegan diet and anyone whose levels have tested low often need a supplement.
This liquid contains two ingredients, purified water and methylcobalamin. It is often chosen by people who want this form in a dose they can adjust one drop at a time.

Methylcobalamin is an active form of B12, used directly in methylation reactions. Hydroxocobalamin is retained longer and converted by the body as needed. If you find methylcobalamin overstimulating, hydroxocobalamin is the usual alternative.
Each drop provides 86.5mcg of methylcobalamin (3460% NRV). The 100ml bottle provides 1538 servings, making it one of the most economical B12 supplements per serving.
Place one drop under the tongue and hold for 30 seconds before swallowing. Sublingual absorption bypasses the digestive system, which matters for the 10 to 15% of people over 60 with B12 absorption issues.
People who want the methylation form of B12 specifically, people a practitioner has told to take methyl B12, vegetarians and vegans, and anyone who wants to start low and build up drop by drop. If methylcobalamin feels stimulating, hydroxocobalamin is the usual alternative, and TRI-B12 Liquid combines all three forms.
Blood levels rise within days of starting. Tiredness usually eases over two to six weeks. Nerve-related symptoms take months and need a GP. If you started because of a low result, retest after eight to twelve weeks.
Both are active forms of vitamin B12. Methylcobalamin supports methylation and homocysteine clearance, while adenosylcobalamin works inside the mitochondria supporting energy production. This product contains methylcobalamin only; TRI-B12 Liquid combines both plus hydroxocobalamin.
Drops let the amount be adjusted one drop at a time, and they suit anyone who cannot swallow tablets. Tablets need binders and a coating to hold their shape; this liquid contains only the active ingredient and its carrier.
