Biosilica provides silicon as choline stabilised orthosilicic acid. This is the form of silicon the body can absorb; most silica in food and supplements passes through unused.
Silicon is a trace element found in bone, skin, hair and nails, and orthosilicic acid is the form studied for these tissues. It is taken by people who want silicon in an absorbable form rather than as horsetail or silica gel.
Each capsule provides orthosilicic acid with cellulose and choline, in a vegetable capsule suitable for vegans. It is often chosen for hair, skin and nail support alongside biotin and zinc.

What form of silicon is it, and how much is in each capsule?
Each capsule provides 25mg of silicon as choline stabilised orthosilicic acid, the form the body absorbs from food and water. Standard silica supplements use silicon dioxide, which is largely insoluble. One capsule a day, so a pot of 90 lasts three months.
Can I take this alongside skincare products?
Yes. Taking a supplement does not change how you use products on the skin.

Why capsules rather than tablets?
Tablets need binders, fillers and a coating to hold their shape. A capsule is a cellulose shell around the powder, so it carries no binders and breaks down quickly once swallowed.
