KHK Formula Capsules give you five ingredients in one capsule: Polygonum cuspidatum extract standardised to resveratrol, N-acetyl cysteine, coenzyme Q10, vitamin C and zinc. Each capsule provides 150mg of the extract, 100mg each of NAC, CoQ10 and vitamin C, with 15mg of zinc. You take one capsule twice a day with meals. One pot holds 60 capsules, which is a 30 day supply.

What is in it
Each capsule provides 150mg of Polygonum cuspidatum extract at 25% resveratrol, which is 37.5mg, 100mg of N-acetyl cysteine, 100mg of coenzyme Q10, 100mg of vitamin C as ascorbic acid, which is 125% of the daily reference value, plus 15mg of zinc as citrate, which is 150%. The capsule shell is vegetable cellulose. Two capsules give 75mg of resveratrol, 200mg of NAC, 200mg of CoQ10, 200mg of vitamin C and 30mg of zinc.
How to take it
Take one capsule twice a day with meals. Food that contains some fat helps the coenzyme Q10 and resveratrol absorb. Two capsules give 30mg of zinc a day, so if you take zinc from anything else, add the totals. Sustained zinc above 30mg a day can lower copper over time, so the label suggests 1 to 2mg of copper if your total goes above that for long periods.

The capsules are suitable for vegans and vegetarians. They are free from gluten, dairy and nuts. Anyone under 16 should not take them.

How many capsules should I take a day?
Two, one with breakfast and one with dinner. A pot of 60 lasts 30 days.
When is the best time to take it?
With meals that contain some fat, because CoQ10 and resveratrol are fat soluble. Breakfast and dinner work well for most people.
Can I take it with other supplements?
Yes. Two capsules give 30mg of zinc, so count that against Zinc Picolinate Capsules or a multivitamin. Copper Citrate Capsules are the usual addition if your total zinc stays above 30mg a day for long periods.
Why is copper mentioned?
Zinc and copper compete for absorption, so a sustained high zinc intake can lower copper over time. The label suggests 1 to 2mg of copper a day if your total zinc from all sources stays above 30mg for an extended period.
Does it have side effects?
Zinc on an empty stomach can cause nausea, which taking it with meals avoids. NAC has a sulphur smell, which is normal. If you take prescribed tablets, are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your GP or pharmacist first.
