Methylfolate, or 5-MTHF, is folate in the form the body uses directly. It is supplied here as calcium L-methylfolate.

What is the difference between methylfolate and folic acid?
Methylfolate (5-MTHF) is the bioactive form the body uses directly. Folic acid is synthetic and must be converted by the MTHFR enzyme, which runs slowly in the estimated 30 to 40% of people carrying MTHFR gene variants.
How much folate is in each capsule?

Who is methylfolate for?

Why capsules rather than tablets?
Tablets need binders, fillers and a coating to hold their shape. A capsule is a cellulose shell around the powder, so it carries no binders and breaks down quickly once swallowed.
