N-acetyl cysteine, or NAC, is a form of the amino acid cysteine. The body uses it to make glutathione, its main antioxidant.
Cysteine is the limiting ingredient for glutathione, so NAC is the usual way to raise it. People take NAC as a supplement for that reason, and it has a long history of use.
Each capsule provides NAC with cellulose, in a vegetable capsule suitable for vegans. The dose is moderate, so it can be taken once or twice a day as directed.

N Acetyl Cysteine provides antioxidant support against oxidative stress.
NAC or glutathione: which should I take?
NAC supplies cysteine, the amino acid that limits how much glutathione the body can make, so it raises glutathione by feeding your own production; it is well absorbed, well studied and the cheaper of the two. Glutathione capsules supply the finished molecule, but a good part of it is broken down in the gut before absorption. Most people start with NAC. Glutathione on its own suits people who have been advised to take it directly. NAC is sold as one form, so there is no form to choose between.
When should I take antioxidants?
Take with food for best absorption.
What causes oxidative stress?
Pollution, UV exposure, processed foods, stress, intense exercise, and normal metabolism all generate free radicals.
Who is NAC best for?
People who want a glutathione precursor at a known dose, usually on a practitioner's suggestion, people already taking glutathione who want the raw material alongside it, and anyone who wants a single-ingredient capsule.
