Omega 3 Fish Oil Softgels give you concentrated fish oil with 330mg of EPA and 220mg of DHA in every softgel, more than a standard fish oil. It comes from the flesh of anchovy, sardine and mackerel, not the liver. The softgels come in pots of 90 caps and 250 caps.

What is in it
Each softgel provides 1000mg of omega 3 concentrate, of which 330mg is EPA and 220mg is DHA, with 25mg of vitamin E from mixed tocopherols to keep the oil stable. The shell is fish gelatin, glycerol and water. Fish oil concentrate, EPA and DHA softgels and omega 3 ethyl esters are other names for it.
How to take it
Take two to four softgels once a day with dinner. An evening meal with some fat in it helps the oil absorb, while any mild fishy aftertaste happens overnight rather than during the day.

A pot of 90 caps lasts 45 days at two a day, while a pot of 250 caps lasts about four months.

Why EPA and DHA rather than plant omega 3?
EPA and DHA are the omega 3 fats found in fish. Your body converts the plant omega 3 in flaxseed to them only in small amounts, so taking EPA and DHA directly is the surer route.
How much fish oil should I take a day?
Take two softgels a day for everyday use, which gives you 660mg of EPA and 440mg of DHA. Four a day gives 1320mg of EPA and 880mg of DHA, an amount to agree with your practitioner.
When is the best time to take fish oil?
With dinner, because a meal with fat in it helps the oil absorb and any aftertaste passes overnight.
Can I take it with other supplements?

Does fish oil have side effects?
A mild fishy aftertaste is rare with a concentrated oil and taking it with dinner avoids it. At high amounts omega 3 thins the blood slightly, so speak to your prescriber if you take a blood thinner.
