Quercetin is a flavonoid that stabilises mast cells, the immune cells that release histamine during allergic reactions. It also has broad anti inflammatory and antioxidant activity and functions as a zinc ionophore, helping shuttle zinc into cells where it supports immune function. It is found naturally in onions, apples, berries and capers.
For allergy and immune support, take Quercetin with meals. Standard quercetin has relatively low oral bioavailability (approximately 17 to 25 percent), and the fat content in food significantly improves absorption. For gut focused use, taking it away from food allows quercetin to act directly on the gut lining rather than being absorbed systemically.
For seasonal allergies and histamine related symptoms, effects can be noticed within days to a few weeks when taken consistently. For broader anti inflammatory benefits, give the protocol 4 to 6 weeks. Best results are often seen when starting before peak allergen exposure rather than reacting to symptoms.
If you take any prescription medication, please consult your prescribing healthcare professional before starting Quercetin. Quercetin can interact with certain antibiotics, blood thinners, and cyclosporine. Suitability and allergen detail is in the Informational Booklet supplied with the product.
Each capsule provides 250mg of quercetin. For allergy support, typical daily doses range from 500 to 1000mg, often split across the day. Pairing quercetin with vitamin C and bromelain, as in many allergy protocols, can improve effectiveness because vitamin C recycles quercetin and bromelain enhances absorption.
Please consult your healthcare professional before starting Quercetin if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking prescription medication, or managing a diagnosed health condition. High dose quercetin during pregnancy lacks safety data.
