Vitamin A Oil

A liquid vitamin A supplement providing 673mcg (84% NRV) of preformed vitamin A as retinyl palmitate per single drop, dissolved in avocado oil. This is the preformed (retinol) form of vitamin A, which is immediately active in the body without requiring conversion from plant based beta carotene. This distinction is important because an estimated 45% of the population carry genetic variants of the BCMO1 gene that significantly reduce their ability to convert beta carotene into retinol.

Vitamin A is essential for immune function (maintaining mucosal barriers in the gut, lungs and urinary tract), vision (particularly night vision and tear production), skin cell turnover, thyroid hormone production and gene expression. The avocado oil base provides a fat soluble carrier for optimal absorption and adds its own beneficial fatty acid profile. At 2500 servings per 100ml bottle, this is an exceptionally economical format. The single drop dosing allows precise control, which is important because vitamin A is fat soluble and accumulates in the body.

Take 1 drop once per day with any meal.

Taking with a meal containing fat supports absorption. The single drop dosing is easy: place 1 drop on food or directly into the mouth. Do not exceed the recommended dose without professional guidance, as vitamin A is fat soluble and can accumulate to toxic levels with sustained high intake.

This product is not suitable during pregnancy (retinyl palmitate at supplemental doses carries teratogenic risk in the first trimester). Pregnant women or those planning pregnancy should use beta carotene forms of vitamin A instead (as found in the Preconception Formula). For those with confirmed or suspected BCMO1 gene variants who struggle to convert beta carotene, this preformed vitamin A provides the solution.
