What tocotrienols are. Vitamin E is a family of eight compounds: four tocopherols and four tocotrienols. Most vitamin E supplements are alpha tocopherol. Tocotrienols have a different side chain, and the delta and gamma forms are the two most studied. Annatto is unusual among plant sources in yielding tocotrienols with no tocopherol at all, which is why this softgel contains only delta and gamma tocotrienol.
How they differ from standard vitamin E. Alpha tocopherol at high doses competes with tocotrienols for absorption, so the two are usually taken at different times of day rather than together. Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Beyond that authorised claim, the tocotrienol research is ongoing and Nutri Tailor does not promise outcomes from it; the honest position is that this is the tocotrienol fraction of vitamin E, on its own, from annatto.

Softgel or oil. Tocotrienols are fat soluble and come as an oil-filled softgel, taken with a meal that contains some fat. There is no liquid version of this product; the tocopherol alternative, Vitamin E 400IU, is also a softgel.
How to take it. One softgel two to three times daily with food, as the label directs. Separate it by at least six hours from any high-dose alpha tocopherol supplement. If you take prescribed blood-thinning tablets, talk to your GP or pharmacist before adding any vitamin E product.
