Activated charcoal is carbon processed to have a very large surface area, so it binds to compounds it meets in the gut. This capsule uses charcoal from coconut shell.
Charcoal is used to bind gas and unwanted compounds in the digestive tract and carry them out of the body. It binds nutrients and anything else taken at the same time, which is why it is taken between meals and away from other supplements.
