This liquid is a tincture of coriander leaf, fennel seed and parsley leaf in equal parts. All three are kitchen herbs with a long history of use around meals.
Fennel, coriander and parsley are the herbs traditionally taken with food for the digestion. People take the tincture before meals rather than eating the herbs in quantity.
