★★★★★ "I won't go back to high street supplements. The difference in quality is something you can actually feel." Susie
Magnesium carbonate is a mineral salt of magnesium. It reacts with stomach acid to form magnesium chloride, which is then absorbed.
Magnesium supports energy release, muscle function, the nervous system and bones, and contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Carbonate is alkaline, so it is often chosen by people who also want to settle an acidic stomach.
Each capsule provides magnesium carbonate with no fillers or binders, in a vegetable capsule suitable for vegans. It gives a high dose of magnesium in a single capsule.

Magnesium carbonate provides systemic magnesium while also acting as a mild antacid, neutralising excess stomach acid. It suits those wanting magnesium plus occasional acid comfort.
Take with food, which provides the stomach acid needed to convert it for absorption. For acid comfort, it can be taken after a meal.
Common signs include muscle cramps, poor sleep, low energy, and tension. A blood test can confirm your level.
Magnesium pairs well with vitamin D, zinc and B vitamins. Space it from calcium by around 2 hours for absorption.
Many people notice a difference within 1 to 2 weeks, with fuller benefits over 4 to 8 weeks of consistent use.
Carbonate is a mineral salt that needs stomach acid to release its magnesium, and it is alkaline, so it settles acid at the same time. Citrate is already dissolved and absorbs well but can loosen the bowel at higher doses. Bisglycinate is bound to glycine, is the gentlest on the stomach and is the usual evening choice. Oxide carries the most magnesium by weight but the least is absorbed. Carbonate suits people who want a high magnesium dose per capsule and welcome the antacid effect; it is best taken with a meal.
Tablets need binders, fillers and a coating to hold their shape. A capsule is a cellulose shell around the powder, so it carries no binders and breaks down quickly once swallowed.
