★★★★★ "I won't go back to high street supplements. The difference in quality is something you can actually feel." Susie
Vanilla Pea Protein Isolate Powder is a vegan protein powder flavoured with natural vanilla and sweetened with stevia, so there is almost no sugar in it. Each scoop gives you 23.7g of protein with a full day's selenium and half your iron. A 1kg bag holds about 31 scoops.
Pea protein isolate is protein from yellow split peas, filtered until it is mostly protein. It is the usual choice for anyone who wants a plant protein or avoids dairy, with iron, zinc and selenium that whey does not carry.
Vanilla Pea Protein Isolate Powder is most useful for:
The ingredients are pea protein isolate, natural flavouring, xanthan gum so it mixes smoothly, plus the natural sweeteners stevia and thaumatin. Thaumatin is a sweet tasting protein from the West African katemfe fruit. Each 32g scoop gives you 23.7g of protein and 116 kcal, with 1.5g of fat, 2g of carbohydrate and 1.2g of fibre, plus 7mg of iron, 2mg of zinc and 64mcg of selenium. Vanilla vegan protein and dairy free protein powder are other names for it.
Mix one 32g scoop into 300 to 400ml of water, plant milk or other liquid. The vanilla works particularly well with almond or oat milk, while it also mixes into porridge, overnight oats and protein pancakes.
It is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. There is no dairy, gluten, nut or soy in it.
It is made in the UK. The powder is non-GM and contains no artificial sweeteners, colours, flavours or preservatives. Like every supplement Nutri Tailor stocks, it is practitioner grade and guaranteed additive free.
Pea protein isolate or whey, which should I choose?
Pea is the plant option, free from dairy, soy and gluten, with iron, zinc and selenium that whey does not carry. Whey isolate has a slightly higher protein density and a fuller amino acid profile, but it contains milk. Choose pea if you avoid dairy, want a vegan protein or find whey sits heavily.
How much protein should I take a day?
Take one scoop a day, which adds 23.7g of protein to what you already get from food. If you train regularly, aim for 1.4g to 2g of protein per kilo of body weight a day in total.
When is the best time to take protein?
You can take it at any time of day. Your total protein across the day matters more than the timing, although a scoop after training is a popular choice.
Can I take it with other supplements?
Yes. It can be taken alongside creatine to further boost performance in high intensity training.
Does pea protein have side effects?
Pea protein is well tolerated and has none of the lactose that makes whey uncomfortable for some people. It is naturally thicker than whey, which is why xanthan gum is added so it mixes smoothly.
Can I use it as a meal replacement?
Protein powder works best alongside whole food rather than in place of a meal. Add fruit, oats or a spoon of nut butter to make a shake that holds you.

Each 32g scoop gives you 23.7g of protein, 116 calories, 2g of carbohydrate and 1.2g of fibre. A 1kg bag is 31 scoops, so about a month at one scoop a day.
Ideal within 30-60 minutes post-workout, or between meals.
Most adults benefit from 1.2-2g per kg bodyweight.
Protein supplements work best alongside whole foods, not as complete meal replacements. Add healthy fats and fibre for a balanced shake.
Whey isolate contains minimal lactose. For complete avoidance, choose plant-based protein options.
Pea protein isolate is the plant option: dairy free, soy free and gluten free, with about 24 g of protein a scoop here and iron, zinc and selenium that whey does not carry. Whey isolate has a slightly higher protein density and a fuller amino acid profile, and it contains milk. Choose pea if you avoid dairy, want a vegan protein, or find whey sits heavily; choose whey if dairy suits you and you want the most protein per scoop. This one is vegan and free from gluten, dairy and nuts.
