Adenosylcobalamin is one of the two active forms of vitamin B12, the one used inside the mitochondria where energy is made. It needs no conversion after it is absorbed.
Vitamin B12 is needed for making red blood cells, for the nervous system and for releasing energy from food, and it contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. It is found almost only in animal foods, so those on a vegan diet and anyone whose levels have tested low often need a supplement.
This liquid contains two ingredients, purified water and adenosylcobalamin. It is often chosen alongside methylcobalamin, or by people who have been advised to take this form. The same adenosylcobalamin is available as a 1000mcg capsule for anyone who prefers a fixed daily dose.

What is adenosylcobalamin and how is it different from methylcobalamin?
Adenosylcobalamin is the mitochondrial form of vitamin B12, acting as a cofactor for the enzyme methylmalonyl CoA mutase. Methylcobalamin is the cytoplasmic form involved in methylation. Both are active forms that require no conversion by the body. This product contains adenosylcobalamin only.
How much B12 is in each drop?
Each drop provides 76mcg of vitamin B12 as adenosylcobalamin. The suggested serving is 1 drop per day, and the dose can be adjusted drop by drop.
What sizes does it come in?
Three bottle sizes: 100ml, 250ml and 500ml. At one drop per day, the 100ml bottle provides 1754 servings.
Is this a liquid B12 with both methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin?
No. This liquid is adenosylcobalamin only, 76mcg per drop. If you want methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin together, TRI-B12 Liquid combines adenosylcobalamin, methylcobalamin and hydroxocobalamin at 100mcg of each per 10-drop serving.
Who is adenosylcobalamin best for?
People who want the mitochondrial form of B12 on its own, often alongside methylcobalamin, people whose methylmalonic acid came back raised and want the matching form with their GP's agreement, and vegetarians and vegans. If you want all three forms in one bottle, TRI-B12 Liquid combines them.
How long does adenosylcobalamin take to work?
Blood levels rise within days of starting. Tiredness usually eases over two to six weeks. Nerve-related symptoms take months and need a GP. If you started because of a low result, retest after eight to twelve weeks.
