P5P capsules, in stock in the UK. Nutri Tailor stocks pyridoxal 5-phosphate (P5P), the active form of vitamin B6, as a capsule, 34 mg per capsule, in pots of 60 and 120, shipped from the UK.
P5P only, the active form of B6. These capsules contain pyridoxal 5-phosphate as their sole form of vitamin B6, not pyridoxine hydrochloride. For a small, adjustable dose see Vitamin B6 P5P Liquid at 848 mcg per drop, or B Complex Liquid for P5P alongside the other B vitamins.
Ships worldwide from the UK, with duties and taxes shown upfront at checkout.
What P5P is. Pyridoxal 5-phosphate is vitamin B6 already converted into its coenzyme form, the form the body uses in well over a hundred enzyme reactions covering amino acid metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis, haemoglobin formation, homocysteine handling and the release of stored glycogen. Pyridoxine hydrochloride, the standard supplement form, has to be converted in the liver into P5P first; these capsules give you the converted form.
How it differs from pyridoxine. Both raise B6 status, and head-to-head evidence that P5P works better in people is thin. The fair case for P5P rests on dose safety: the sensory nerve problems reported with sustained high-dose pyridoxine are linked in laboratory work to pyridoxine competing with the active P5P form. Dose matters more than form, and this is a higher-dose product: the NHS advises not going above 10 mg a day long term unless a doctor advises it, and in 2023 EFSA lowered its adult ceiling to 12 mg a day. At 34 mg a capsule, this product suits a short course or a practitioner's instruction, not open-ended daily use.
Who chooses it. People who have been told by a practitioner or their GP to take B6 at a higher dose for a set period. People with a tested low level. People who want the active form rather than pyridoxine at that dose. Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity, normal psychological function, normal functioning of the nervous system, normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal homocysteine metabolism, normal red blood cell formation and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Capsules or drops. The capsule gives a fixed 34 mg. The liquid gives 848 mcg per drop, under 1 mg, and lets you build the dose one drop at a time while staying near the 10 mg long-term guidance figure. If you have not been told to take a higher dose, the drops are the right product.
How to take it. One capsule daily with food, for the period you have been advised. Morning with food suits most people. New tingling or numbness in the hands or feet means stop and speak to your GP. The Nutri Tailor guide Which form of vitamin B6 should you buy: P5P or pyridoxine? covers the evidence and the dose question in more detail.
| Each capsule contains: | %NRV* | |
|---|---|---|
| Vitamin B6 | 34 mg | 2429% |
* Nutrient Reference Value
Cellulose, Pyridoxal 5 Phopshate Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (capsule).
Directions for use:
Take 1 capsule per day with food.
Take with a meal. At 34 mg a capsule this product sits above the 10 mg a day the NHS advises as a long-term limit unless a doctor says otherwise, and above the 12 mg a day ceiling EFSA set in 2023, so use it for the period you have been advised rather than indefinitely. New tingling or numbness in the hands or feet means stop and speak to your GP.
For methylation routines it pairs with methylfolate and methylcobalamin.
Vitamin B6 P5P Capsules from Nutri Tailor contain pyridoxal 5 phosphate, the active coenzyme form, providing 34mg per capsule. They do not contain pyridoxine hydrochloride, which requires liver conversion before use.

P5P is the active coenzyme form of vitamin B6, used directly in over 150 enzymatic reactions. Pyridoxine hydrochloride must first be converted by the liver.
34mg as pyridoxal 5 phosphate per capsule, one daily, in 60 or 120 capsule pots. For drop-by-drop titration see the P5P Liquid at 848mcg per drop.
Vitamin B6 is one of the vitamins where more is not better; sustained very high intakes are not recommended. Keep to the suggested dose unless guided otherwise by a health professional.
Amino acid metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis (serotonin, dopamine, GABA and noradrenaline), haemoglobin production, homocysteine clearance and the release of stored energy from muscle and liver.
People a practitioner or GP has told to take vitamin B6 at a higher dose for a set period, people with a tested low level, and anyone who wants the active form rather than pyridoxine at that dose. If you have not been told to take a higher dose, the Vitamin B6 P5P Liquid at under 1 mg per drop keeps you near the long-term guidance figure.
For the period you have been advised. At 34 mg a capsule this product sits above the 10 mg a day the NHS advises as a long-term limit unless a doctor says otherwise, and above the 12 mg a day ceiling EFSA set in 2023, so it is for a short course or a practitioner's instruction rather than open-ended daily use. New tingling or numbness in the hands or feet means stop and speak to your GP.
