Vitamin E 400IU

Each softgel capsule provides 400 IU (268mg alpha tocopherol equivalent) of vitamin E as natural d alpha tocopherol in a wheatgerm oil base. Natural d alpha tocopherol is the most biologically active form of vitamin E and has approximately twice the bioactivity of the synthetic dl alpha tocopherol form found in many supplements. The natural form is recognised by the body's alpha tocopherol transfer protein, which preferentially selects it for distribution to tissues.

Vitamin E is the body's primary fat soluble antioxidant, protecting cell membranes, LDL cholesterol particles and polyunsaturated fatty acids from oxidative damage. At 400 IU, this provides a therapeutic dose used in clinical research for cardiovascular protection, skin health, immune function and neurological support.
