How to boost your results
It wants to work properly but eating quickly on the run or in a stressful setting prevents it from having adequate opportunity to do so. Gift yourself a proper opportunity to enjoy your meals. Even if it's only 15 minutes, sit down, without distraction and chew well.
Overly complicated meals with lots of very fibrous vegetables (too many ingredients) or eating quickly fermenting foods such as fruit after slower digesting protein and carbohydrates will lead to discomfort. Try sticking to 3-4 main ingredients per meal. Pair heavier animal proteins with cooked vegetables and eat grain products with lighter proteins such as fish or poultry.
This will dilute stomach acid and make symptoms worse. Stick to 500ml of non-sparkling liquid sipped over the 30 minutes before, during and after eating.

Founder, Nutri Tailor

Per NICE CG184 (Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and dyspepsia in adults, 2014, last updated October 2019), first-line management is lifestyle measures (weight loss where overweight, raising bed head, avoiding eating within 3 hours of bedtime, reducing alcohol, caffeine, trigger foods), then antacids, then proton pump inhibitors. The 2019 NICE surveillance confirmed PPI evidence remains robust. This plan reflects a complementary-practice framework hypothesising that insufficient stomach acid contributes to reflux in some adults; this position diverges from mainstream UK evidence-based guidance, which targets acid reduction. The bundle provides digestive enzymes, betaine HCl in Digestade (Yago 2013 PMID 23980906 demonstrated transient gastric reacidification in induced-hypochlorhydria volunteers; this is a pharmacokinetic study, not a reflux trial), and Super Zinc (EFSA Article 13.1: zinc contributes to maintenance of normal mucous membranes). Alarm features (dysphagia, persistent vomiting, weight loss, melaena, haematemesis, anaemia, new dyspepsia at age 55 or over) warrant urgent 2-week-wait GP referral per NICE NG12. Do not stop prescribed PPIs without GP supervision.
Initial improvements within 1-2 weeks. Full healing takes 2-3 months.
Yes, gut support often works best as part of a protocol.
Increased intestinal permeability allows undigested particles into the bloodstream, triggering inflammation and immune reactions.
Bloating, irregular bowels, food sensitivities, skin issues, and fatigue can all indicate gut dysfunction.
Common triggers include gluten, dairy, sugar, alcohol, and processed foods. An elimination diet helps identify personal triggers.
