How to boost your results
Many people will find that they go on holiday and get sick. This is often because it's the first time they've allowed their system to relax. By gently easing into a break for the 4-7 days before you leave you will find your body gently unwinds and this crash doesn't happen. Aim to go to bed 15-20 minutes earlier than usual, start to decrease the intensity of exercise, and focus on good hydration with a lower consumption of alcohol.
Eating whilst travelling, especially if flying, is tough going for the gut. If possible, try to have a good meal 2 hours before you get onto your mode of transport and then avoid eating during the journey if possible. If this isn't appropriate then choose easy to digest, protein rich meals and try to time them with the time zone you will arrive in. Avoid snacking mindlessly on a journey (this can often lead to constipation when you arrive).
Before you travel try to do some form of gentle physical activity (yoga, Pilates, swim or a gentle jog), or walk a lot in the airport before you board if flying. Then set a reminder and get up and stretch, squat, and do calf raises to generally get your muscles moving to prevent lymph stagnation. 5-10 minutes once an hour is about the right balance.
